About the Role
Reporting to the Lead, the IT Engineer - Platforms is accountable for providing advanced technical services, relevant consultative advice, process management and implementation to support the functions of the team. Utilising your advanced experience, you will ensure your work exemplifies a high level of technical expertise, quality and efficiency of operation, whilst assisting junior resources in attaining the same high standards. This role is responsible for supporting a collaborative work environment. You will achieve this by ensuring that both regular and more complex instances of work assignments are resolved in alignment with established Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s). You will ensure that proactive support and maintenance activities are performed in alignment with operating expectations, solutions are delivered with efficiency, effectiveness and an enterprise approach in mind and that process documentation and standard operational procedures (SOPs) for the team’s technologies of responsibility are established and maintained; whilst reviewing the work of your colleagues for quality and accuracy.
About You
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject area (Information Technology, Business Administration or related field) and 5 years experience in aligned technology areas OR 7 Years experience in an aligned technology area.
- Certifications relevant to technical field or supporting processes (Service Management, COBIT, ITIL, PRINCE2, CCNA, MSCE, etc) would be advantageous.
Accountabilities
- IT Infrastructure ITOP - Provisioning, deploying, configuring, operating and optimising technology infrastructure across physical, virtual and cloud-based environments.
- Configuration Management CFMG - Planning, identifying, controlling, accounting for and auditing of configuration items (CIs) and their interrelationships.
- Control Management CHMG- Assessing risks associated with proposed changes and ensuring changes to products, services or systems are controlled and coordinated.
- Problem Management PBMG - Managing the life cycle of all problems that have occurred or could occur in delivering a service.
- Release & Deployment RELM - Applying the processes, systems and functions required to make new and changed services and features available for use.
- Information Security SCTY - Defining and operating a framework of security controls and security management strategies.
- System Integration and Build SINT - Planning, implementing and controlling activities to synthesise system components to create operational systems, products or services.
- Incident Management USUP - Coordinating responses to a diverse range of incidents to minimise negative impacts and quickly restore services.
- Data Management DATM - Developing and implementing plans, policies and practices that control, protect and optimise the value and governance of data assets.
