About the Company

Davidson Technology are working with a large Federal Government Agency to secure multiple Senior AWS Cloud Engineers to design, deliver, and optimise secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions across enterprise environments, working on an initial 12-month contract with the option of 2 x 12-month extensions.

About the Role

As the Senior AWS Cloud Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, delivering, and optimising secure, scalable, and cost-effective AWS cloud solutions across complex enterprise environments, supporting the organisation’s cloud transformation and system modernisation initiatives. You will work closely with stakeholders to ensure cloud architectures align with strategic objectives while embedding automation, resilience, and best practices to uplift organisational cloud capability. You’ll lead migration and modernisation efforts, rationalise legacy systems, enhance operational efficiency, and drive continuous improvement and cost optimisation across cloud services. As a critical custodian of elasticity, security, and lifecycle management within dynamic cloud environments, the role requires NV1 clearance (TSPV highly desirable) and successful completion of company’s Organisational Suitability Assessment, which includes a psychological evaluation covering personal, financial, and lifestyle factors.

About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring 5–10 years of experience delivering robust, scalable, and secure AWS solutions for complex enterprise projects, drawing on deep technical expertise across compute, storage, networking, and security services. With strong capability in cloud architecture design, migration strategies, and automation frameworks, you’ll be highly proficient in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation, and be skilled in applying DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerisation technologies including Docker and Kubernetes. You will demonstrate a solid understanding of cloud security, compliance, and governance, coupled with the ability to troubleshoot, optimise performance, and drive cost efficiency across cloud environments. Operating within this critical national security agency responsible for intelligence, cyber defence, and offensive cyber operations—you will be expected to communicate effectively, manage competing priorities, and navigate technically diverse ICT landscapes, with tertiary qualifications and experience managing complex projects considered advantageous.

You will be offered a 12-month contract with the option of 2 x 12-month extensions on an excellent daily rate and the ability to negotiate a flexible working arrangement for the duration of the assignment.
