Davidson is partnering with a state government client seeking an experienced AO6 Senior Advisor to enhance organisational capability and support the strategic development of a skilled, future‑ready workforce.
About the Role
As Senior Advisor (Capability Development), you will provide strategic advice on workforce capability, lead the design and coordination of development programs, and support the effective delivery of learning initiatives across the organisation.
- Manage and coordinate entry pathway programs, including Apprenticeships, Traineeships, Cadetships, Internships and Graduate Programs, providing expert advice on program design, compliance, governance, attraction strategies and progression pathways.
- Apply contemporary knowledge of training frameworks and standards, including Training Packages, the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and/or the Australian Apprenticeship Framework, to ensure compliant, quality and continuously improved program delivery.
- Lead capability needs analysis and workforce planning activities, identifying current and emerging capability gaps and providing strategic advice into business and workforce planning processes.
- Provide secretariat and coordination support to the Civil Trades Development Program (CTDP) and Civil Trades Development Committee, including oversight of progression pathways, program development and contract management.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, acting as the primary interface between the organisation, training providers, Group Training Organisations and internal partners.
- Manage projects and associated procurement, contract administration and delivery activities from concept through to implementation.
- Provide culturally appropriate pastoral support to participants, particularly First Nations peoples and vulnerable cohorts such as young or inexperienced workers, to strengthen retention, wellbeing and successful workforce participation.
About You
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic advice on capability and workforce development aligned to business and commercial priorities.
- Proven experience coordinating programs and projects, including managing delivery from concept through to evaluation.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working across internal teams and external partners.
- Sound knowledge of learning and training frameworks, including the AQF, training packages and/or the Australian Apprenticeship Framework.
- Demonstrated ability to support diverse workforce cohorts, including providing culturally appropriate guidance to entry pathway participants.
