Davidson is partnering with a leading global technology organisation seeking a Senior Accountant – Financial Control to join their finance team on a 6-month full-time contract.

This organisation operates at scale across multiple markets and is currently continuing its finance transformation journey, with a strong focus on standardised, centralised processes, financial control, consolidation and high-quality statutory reporting.

About the Role
this role will play a key part in supporting group consolidation, statutory financial reporting and broader financial control activities.

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing monthly consolidated results, supporting balance sheet and cash flow analysis, managing consolidation journals and ensuring accounting issues identified during close are properly investigated and resolved.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing monthly consolidated results across assigned group entities, including subsidiaries and/or associates
  • Importing monthly results into the consolidation tool and preparing associated consolidation journals
  • Preparing and reporting on balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts and entities
  • Supporting consolidated balance sheet and cash flow analytics
  • Assisting with group intercompany processes and ensuring accuracy across reporting
  • Supporting the preparation of year-end consolidated financial statements
  • Preparing standalone statutory financial statements for assigned companies
  • Liaising with external auditors in relation to financial statements
  • Monitoring and reviewing subsidiary balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assisting with quality reviews of entity trial balances
  • Conducting periodic deep dives on specific balances to confirm compliance with group policies
  • Supporting ad hoc technical accounting work, including research and significant transactions such as acquisitions or disposals
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to strengthen efficiency, controls and scalability

About You
You will be a technically strong finance professional with experience across consolidation, statutory reporting and financial control within complex environments.
You will bring:

  • CA/CPA qualification, or equivalent
  • 3+ years’ post-qualification experience
  • Experience preparing or auditing complex multi-currency consolidations
  • Experience preparing or auditing financial statements
  • Strong knowledge of AASB or IFRS accounting standards
  • Confidence researching accounting treatment questions and proposing practical solutions
  • Ability to work through complex accounting concepts and identify flow-on impacts
  • mote or distributed teams

  • A growth mindset and a continuous improvement approach

A background in a Big 4 accounting firm, combined with hands-on industry experience, will be highly regarded. Experience with Oracle SmartView and Workday Financials will also be advantageous, but is not essential.
