Powercor is a major electricity distributor servicing much of western Victoria and the Melbourne CBD. Known for their robust infrastructure and safety-first approach, Powercor operates a complex, high-demand network. With a significant uplift in secondary systems workload, they are looking to engage an experienced Secondary Design Drafter to assist on critical design and QA activities.
About the Role
This is a technically focused drafting role, supporting secondary design work within an established internal engineering team. The position is part of Powercor’s business-as-usual operations—not tied to a single project—and will involve both design production and quality checking.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting secondary systems wiring diagrams and schematics
- Working under the guidance of a Secondary Design Engineer to deliver accurate and timely drawings
- Performing cross-checking and QA on other drafters’ work
- Managing mark-ups and drawing updates across existing infrastructure
About You
You are a mid to senior-level drafter with strong experience in secondary systems within the power industry.
Ideal candidates will bring:
- Proven experience in secondary systems drafting and schematic production
- High proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical or similar CAD platforms
- A strong eye for detail and quality control
- Experience within a DNSP, transmission business, or EPC delivering power infrastructure
