SAP OPIM Functional Consultant

Information & Communication Technology

About the Company

Davidson Technology are working with a State Government Department to secure an experienced SAP OPIM Functional Consultant to work as part of a specialist Future State project.

About the Role

As an SAP S/4HANA Operational Procurement and Inventory Management (OPIM) Functional Consultant, you will play a key role in the Central Pharmacy Future State Project, supporting the delivery of a new modern Central Pharmacy facility and fit-for-purpose ERP and warehouse management environment for the department. You will assess the existing S/4HANA landscape and design, configure and implement pragmatic Materials Management solutions covering operational procurement, inventory replenishment, inventory control and reverse logistics, ensuring alignment with SAP best practice and the future Central Pharmacy operating model. You will design master data structures and WRICEF objects and ensure seamless integration across EWM, SD, FI/CO, BTP and relevant external systems, working closely with the S/4HANA Solution Architect and key business and technical stakeholders. You will produce detailed functional designs, process flows, configuration specifications, data standards and test documentation, while supporting unit, integration, UAT, performance and other testing activities. You will also contribute to cutover and production deployment, change management, knowledge transfer and capability uplift, and provide specialist troubleshooting during hypercare and stabilisation, ensuring the solution is scalable, secure, compliant and successfully transitioned into ongoing operations.

About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring a minimum of five years’ hands-on experience designing and implementing original embedded S/4HANA Materials Management solutions across greenfield implementations and/or complex live production environments. You will demonstrate the ability to create bespoke, fit-for-purpose OPIM solutions rather than relying on predefined templates, with strong capability across end-to-end solution design, configuration, WRICEF development and fit-gap analysis. You will be skilled at translating complex business requirements into scalable SAP solutions aligned with best practice, supported by strong analytical and problem-solving capability and a deep understanding of integration across EWM, SD, FI, BTP and external systems. You will have demonstrated experience delivering across the complete SAP lifecycle, including design, build, testing, cutover, deployment, hypercare and post-go-live stabilisation, combined with strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills across both technical and business audiences. SAP S/4HANA Materials Management certification and additional certifications across areas such as MM, SD or EWM will be highly regarded, as will previous experience delivering SAP solutions within healthcare, pharmaceutical or similarly complex regulated environments.

The Benefits

You will be offered a 15-month contract on an excellent hourly rate and the ability to negotiate a flexible working arrangement for the duration of the assignment as well as the potential for further extensions.
