💼 Full-time – initial 6-month contract
A great opportunity to join a new squad as part of Davidson Technology Consulting to work in a hands-on capacity and lead the implementation of an approved enterprise risk framework. We’re looking for a Risk Manager – Implementation Lead to operationalisation the approved Risk Management Framework and Risk Appetite Statement, standing up priority and fit-for-purpose governance, risk processes and delivery rhythm to meet Board expectations.

The Opportunity
In this role, you will
- Own and run the Risk Uplift Program, plan and manage the delivery cadence (backlog, sprints/triage), track milestones/RAID, remove roadblocks and keep delivery to time.
- Translate approved Risk Management Framework and Risk Appetite into practice by operationalising methodology, policies, procedures and templates (KRIs, risk register, RCSA, incident and issues management, policy governance, Delegations of Authority).
- Establish the risk governance structure and the first-line risk operating model with clear rhythms, accountabilities and decision rights.
- Support business adoption of practices through hands-on guidance and change enablement.
- Coordinate stakeholders and dependencies across divisions and portfolio initiatives to maintain aligned delivery.
- Produce succinct reporting aligned to the Risk Management Framework, Risk Appetite Statements and risk matrix.
- Coach and lift existing capability in a resource-constrained environment and direct two Risk Advisors to build standardise practices.
About You
You have demonstrated experience in balancing strategic oversight with hands-on delivery, ensuring the framework doesn’t just look good on paper but works in practice. As an experienced risk practitioner who is comfortable leading implementation in complex, regulated environments. You bring:
- 7–10+ years in Enterprise Risk Management and Operational Risk delivering in insurance, government, or APRA-regulated environments.
- Working knowledge of ISO 31000, CPS 230 and CPS 234, with in-depth experience across risk and controls assurance, RCSA, incident and issue management, KRIs, policy governance and delegations of authority frameworks.
- Outcome-focused leader with proven record turning frameworks into embedded BAU, with strong stakeholder management up to CRO/ELT and able to build capability and team confidence.
- Adaptable, structured and pragmatic. Able to simplify and design methodology and successfully embed through change enablement and training.
- Proficient with common GRC tools (Protecht/Archer/RiskWare) and producing practical reporting.
