Join the Financial Services Consulting team, reporting to Senior Risk Advisor – Implementation Lead.
If you enjoy being close to the business, making processes work on the ground, and helping line 1 embed better risk practices, this is a great opportunity!
As a Risk Advisor you will execute the day-to-day rollout of risk processes and artefacts across business units, embedding consistent and fit‑for‑purpose practices that stabilise operations quickly. Working closely with the Risk Manager and existing team to drive day‑to‑day delivery of the Risk Uplift Program.
The Opportunity
In this role, you will
- Develop and standardise practical procedures, templates and checklists aligned to the approved Risk Management Framework and Risk Appetite Statement. Support business adoption of practices through hands-on guidance and change enablement.
- Set up risk registers, plan and run Risk and Control Self-Assessments, including facilitation support and control design with process owners.
- Embed the incident and issues management workflow including event logging, impact assessment, action tracking.
- Build and maintain KRI libraries with owners and prepare inputs for management and executive reporting.
- Work with first‑line stakeholders and risk governance forums to clarify responsibilities, progress actions and reinforce consistent practices.
About You
You’re a delivery-focused risk or controls professional who enjoys working with the business to make processes real. You bring:
- 5–8+ years in operational risk, internal control or assurance roles within insurance, government, or APRA‑regulated environments.
- Working knowledge of ISO 31000, CPS 230 and CPS 234, with experience across risk and controls assurance, RCSA, incident and issue management, KRIs, policy governance and delegations of authority frameworks.
- Strong facilitation, documentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Adaptable, self‑directed and outcome‑focused. Able to work collaboratively and embed change in a complex environment.
- Proficient with common GRC tools (Protecht/Archer/RiskWare) and producing practical reporting.
