Return to Work Advisor

Human Resources & Recruitment

About the Company

This purpose-led organisation plays a vital role in shaping the lives of families and communities across Australia. With a strong national footprint and a deep commitment to safety, wellbeing and inclusion, they are seeking an experienced Recover at Work Advisor to join their Safety, Health & Wellbeing function.

Operating within a values driven, human-centred environment, this is an opportunity to contribute to meaningful outcomes—supporting people through recovery while enabling sustainable return to work across a large, complex workforce.

The Role
Reporting to the Head of Recover at Work, you will lead end-to-end injury management across both work and non-work-related cases. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will provide expert guidance to operational leaders while partnering closely with insurers, medical professionals and internal stakeholders to drive best-practice recovery outcomes.

This is a hands-on and highly collaborative role, requiring you to balance technical expertise with a compassionate, stakeholder-focused approach. You will play a central role in coordinating recovery strategies, removing barriers and ensuring safe, timely and sustainable return to work outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the management of injury and illness cases from early intervention through to return to work
  • Develop and implement tailored Recover and Return to Work strategies aligned to operational needs
  • Provide technical advice on workers’ compensation legislation and compliance requirements
  • Partner with leaders to design suitable duties and navigate complex employment scenarios
  • Engage proactively with insurers, scheme agents and healthcare providers to influence claim outcomes
  • Monitor claim performance, contributing to reduced duration, cost and operational disruption
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation and reporting
  • Build capability across the business through coaching and guidance on return-to-work practices

About You
You are a confident and credible injury management professional with a strong understanding of workers’ compensation frameworks. You bring a proactive mindset, sound judgement and the ability to influence a broad stakeholder group in a complex, multi-site environment.

You will also demonstrate:

  • Proven experience managing end-to-end workers’ compensation and injury management cases
  • Strong knowledge of legislative frameworks and return to work obligations
  • The ability to build trust and communicate effectively with both operational leaders and injured employees
  • A solutions-focused approach with the ability to navigate sensitive and complex situations
  • High attention to detail with strong documentation and reporting capability

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in injury management / workers’ compensation
  • Current Return to Work Coordinator certification
  • Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Tertiary qualifications in allied health or a related discipline (desirable)

The Benefits

  • Join a purpose-driven organisation making a genuine community impact
  • Collaborative and supportive team environment
  • Opportunity to influence and improve recovery and wellbeing outcomes at scale
  • Flexible, values-led workplace culture

If you are passionate about supporting people through recovery and driving meaningful return to work outcomes, we’d welcome your application.
