Brisbane based opporunity with flexible working conditions, 4 days work from home per week. Unfortunately sponsorship is not available for this position.
The Role
As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for testing and validating critical data and system integrations that underpin the organisation’s data and analytics capabilities.
Your other responsibilities will include:
- Designing and executing test plans, test cases and scripts focused on data validation, system integration and reporting accuracy.
- Performing hands-on testing across SQL Server, SAP HANA, Microsoft Fabric, and Power BI environments.
- Investigating data discrepancies through SQL queries, conducting root cause analysis, and collaborating with developers and data engineers to resolve issues.
- Supporting the data replatforming program by validating data transformations and reconciliations between legacy and new systems.
- Executing both manual and automated tests across applications, APIs, and data pipelines to ensure reliability and performance.
- Contributing to continuous improvement of QA practices and supporting the evolution of data quality assurance standards.
About You
In order to be a successful applicant, you will bring a strong foundation in data testing and a hands-on approach to quality assurance within complex data environments.
You will also have:
- Proven experience in SQL-based testing, with the ability to write and troubleshoot complex queries.
- Experience validating data pipelines, data models, and transformations across multiple environments.
- Exposure to testing front-end reporting tools such as Power BI (Web Intelligence experience highly regarded).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, detail-oriented mindset.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in agile teams.
- An interest in evolving toward test automation in the future, though with a current focus on manual and data-centric testing.
