Davidson is proud to be partnering with Iberdrola on the VNI West Project - a flagship transmission project currently in development phase. This is a nationally significant piece of energy infrastructure, backed by one of the world’s leading renewable energy companies.
Iberdrola’s global expertise, combined with its strong Australian presence, sets the stage for a project that will reshape how energy moves across the nation. Joining this team means contributing to a high-impact program that’s central to Australia’s clean energy transition.
Reporting to the PMO Lead, the Project Risk Manager will be the key driver behind project-wide risk identification, assessment and mitigation. This role is all about visibility, connection and influencing - working across multiple project teams, shaping decision-making, and ensuring risks are understood, owned and actively managed.
If you thrive in complex infrastructure environments and know how to build trust, cut through noise, and keep a major project sharp on its risk posture, you’ll fit right in.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading the development, monitoring and coordination of risk management activities across the project.
- Running interface meetings with internal teams, the client and contractors.
- Managing the project risk management plan, risk register and reporting requirements.
- Providing clear, timely insights to internal stakeholders on risk trends, project progress and key risk indicators.
- Guiding the preparation and presentation of milestone documentation for client submission.
- Supporting the project team to align with the Victorian Government Risk Management Framework.
- Building and embedding risk management frameworks, tools and processes.
- Coaching risk owners, lifting capability and fostering a culture of strong risk awareness.
- Keeping ahead of policy and regulatory developments and assessing their implications for the project.
What you’ll bring:
- A relevant Bachelor’s or Master's degree
- Strong analytical capability, with experience in scenario planning and mapping internal/external influences.
- Confidence engaging across multidisciplinary teams, with well-honed influencing and stakeholder skills.
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-complexity environments with diverse technical and commercial inputs.
- Solid understanding of health, safety and environment requirements for major network infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of project management principles, the Australian energy and networks landscape, and government regulatory frameworks.
- Experience with MS Project or similar tools
If you are a proven Project Risk Manager with exposure to large-scale infrastructure projects, we’d love to hear from you. Experience in development of major transmission network infrastructure projects or renewable energy projects is highly valued, but most important is your ability to be a hands-on leader in risk management and risk culture, influencing people and driving positive project outcomes.
