Project Manager – Safety Technology Assets

About the Opportunity

A leading Queensland Government department is seeking an experienced Project Manager to deliver key initiatives within the Engineering and Technology Branch, focused on Safety Technology Assets.

This role will see you take ownership of end-to-end project delivery across a portfolio of critical enforcement and technology projects, including integration with back-office systems and the establishment of a NATA accredited calibration laboratory.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver assigned projects from initiation through to successful operational handover
  • Manage scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, and benefits in line with PMBOK principles
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and reporting artefacts
  • Lead stakeholder engagement across technical, operational, and executive groups
  • Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and change control processes
  • Oversee supplier performance and coordinate delivery activities
  • Contribute to procurement processes including Statements of Work and deliverables
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting to governance forums and steering committees
  • Ensure smooth transition to business-as-usual, including training and operational readiness


About You

  • Proven experience delivering complex ICT / technology or asset-based projects
  • Strong background in government or large enterprise environments
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and suppliers
  • Solid understanding of project governance, reporting, and assurance frameworks
  • Experience managing budgets, forecasting, and financial tracking
  • Ability to drive outcomes in structured, compliance-driven environments

Mandatory Requirements

  • PMP Certification (preferred), OR
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner Certification with demonstrated equivalent experience
