Project Manager - Transformation and Delivery

Information & Communication Technology

The Project Manager will work across multiple projects delivered by the Transformation Management Office (TMO). While the initial focus will be on managing and delivering projects within the Digital Metering Program—which is currently in its final stages—the Project Manager may also be allocated to support projects from other programs that are in earlier, initial delivery stages, subject to TMO resourcing priorities.

Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of multiple projects within the Enterprise Transformation & Delivery (ET&D) portfolio, ensuring achievement of agreed scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and change outcomes.
  • Partner with project sponsors and cross‑functional leaders to define and manage scope, priorities, dependencies, resourcing, delivery plans, budgets, and governance.
  • Coordinate and lead shared, cross‑functional delivery teams, optimising resource utilisation, and sequencing across concurrent initiatives.
  • Manage internal and external dependencies, including vendors and delivery partners, to ensure timely and integrated outcomes.
  • Own financial management for assigned projects, including forecasting, cost control, and delivery against approved business objectives.
  • Proactively manage delivery risks, issues, and impacts, escalating with clear options and recommendations where required.
  • Provide clear, accurate, and timely reporting to senior stakeholders and governance forums to support decision‑making.
  • Ensure business and technology solutions are delivered in line with program objectives, enterprise standards, and governance requirements.
  • Work with IT and release management to prioritise, plan, and sequence technology‑enabled initiatives.
  • Support business change and adoption, working closely with the change management function and acting as a trusted point of contact for senior stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and partners to support successful delivery outcomes.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities while contributing as a collaborative member of the Transformation Office delivery team.

*Skills, knowledge & experience

  • Strong, practical understanding of project management disciplines, including governance, planning, risk, financial management, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering complex, cross‑functional initiatives, ideally within digital or enterprise transformation environments.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing priorities, dependencies, and limited resources.
  • Experience working across business and IT, including engagement with delivery, release management, vendors, and operational stakeholders.
  • Solid working knowledge of IT delivery, contract and vendor management, procurement processes, UAT, stakeholder engagement, and change management.
  • Highly effective stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to engage and challenge at senior leadership level.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making capability, with a results‑focused delivery mindset.
  • High personal resilience, professionalism, and energy, with the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous and fast‑changing environments.
  • Desirable: experience or understanding of utility industry processes / Digital Meters

In Summary

  • The priority is for candidates to possess strong transformation PM experience as the focus will be on delivery capability. Candidates do not necessarily require utility experience.
  • Credibility and Authority with Senior Stakeholders: The Project Manager must operate confidently at senior leadership level, with the ability to influence, challenge constructively, and manage competing priorities across the organisation. Clear, honest, and fact‑based reporting is essential, particularly in complex or ambiguous situations.
  • Adaptability and Team‑First Mindset: The Project Manager needs to be flexible and adaptable in response to changing priorities, shifting scopes, and evolving transformation needs, while maintaining delivery discipline.
  • Operate as a collaborative team player within the Transformation Office, contributing to shared goals rather than optimising for individual projects.
