Project Manager - Smart Meters - Utilities

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support delivery across smart metering programs within the water and energy sectors. This is a customer-facing role suited to someone who can confidently engage stakeholders, manage expectations, and drive delivery outcomes in complex environments.

You will work across a mix of cloud and on-prem platforms, coordinating multiple teams including product, engineering, devices, and field operations. A strong customer-first mindset is essential, along with the ability to respond constructively to feedback and manage escalations professionally.

While technical exposure to APIs and integrations is advantageous, the priority is on communication capability, professionalism, and delivery focus.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to critical infrastructure programs in a flexible, Melbourne-based contract role.

• Manage end-to-end project delivery from deployment through to stabilisation
• Coordinate across internal teams, customer environments, and external partners
• Engage directly with customers, managing escalations and driving positive outcomes
• Work across complex technology landscapes including cloud and on-prem platforms
• Support integration efforts across systems, including API-driven components
• Maintain clear communication with senior stakeholders and ensure alignment
• Drive delivery in a hybrid Agile and structured execution environment

• Ability to operate confidently in customer-facing roles and manage feedback constructively
• Experience in utilities
• Experience of working on highly regulated projects / programs
• Exposure to API implementations and system integrations advantageous
• Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Confluence
• Drive delivery outcomes
• PMP, Prince2, or similar certifications nice to have
