JOB OVERVIEW:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager
to lead the end-to-end delivery of a large-scale IBM Maximo redeployment, including BIRT reporting. This role is critical in ensuring seamless execution across planning, delivery, and transition phases while maintaining continuity of asset operations.
You will work across multiple teams and vendors, driving governance, managing risks, and ensuring successful integration, testing, and deployment in a complex enterprise environment; in the location of Melbourne (Adelaide optional) on Hybrid schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Overall Delivery & Governance
- Own end-to-end project delivery across planning, execution, cutover, and handover phases.
- Establish and manage project governance, including cadence for steering, delivery forums, and status reporting.
- Ensure alignment between business objectives, technical delivery, and operational readiness.
Planning & Wave Management
- Develop and maintain the integrated project plan, incorporating the overlapping wave strategy.
- Coordinate sequencing of activities to enable early readiness of integrations (e.g. BizTalk/AIS, GIS, Historian) and incremental testing ahead of final cutover.
- Manage interdependencies across Maximo configuration, integrations, BIRT reporting, infrastructure, and data migration.
Stakeholder & Third-party Management
- Act as the primary coordination point across Solution Architects, Infrastructure teams, delivery teams, and third-party providers.
- Manage delivery constraints and risks arising from external or partially controlled environments.
- Ensure clear ownership, decision making, and escalation paths are maintained throughout the engagement.
Scope, Schedule & Financial Control
- Manage scope baselining and change control to prevent uncontrolled expansion.
- Track milestones, deliverables, and critical path items.
- Monitor project financials, including effort burn, forecast to complete, and variance reporting.
Risk, Issue & Dependency Management
- Proactively identify, assess, and manage project risks and dependencies, with particular focus on integration readiness, data migration, and cutover.
- Own issue and RAID management, ensuring timely escalation and resolution.
- Ensure mitigation plans are in place for risks impacting operational continuity.
Quality & Delivery Assurance
- Ensure quality gates are applied across design, build, test, and deployment phases.
- Validate that deliverables meet agreed acceptance criteria and are fit for purpose.
- Coordinate readiness reviews prior to key milestones such as integration testing, UAT, and go live.
Cutover, Handover & Transition
- Lead cutover planning and execution, coordinating technical and business activities.
- Ensure runbooks, support models, and operational KPIs are delivered prior to handover.
- Manage transition to BAU support teams, ensuring a controlled and low risk go live.
Reporting & Communication
- Provide clear, concise, and transparent status reporting to stakeholders.
- Communicate progress, risks, decisions, and next steps effectively across technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Maintain a single source of truth for delivery status and project artefacts.
