Our Client:
A major Queensland Government department driving a large-scale service and digital modernisation program.

The role:
The Project Manager leads complex service modernisation and transformation projects that support strategic program objectives. The role oversees end-to-end project delivery, ensures alignment to government digital and ICT frameworks, manages multi-disciplinary teams, and applies user-centred design to deliver improved service outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead service modernisation and transformation projects, ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and to quality standards.
  • Drive planning, risk, change, quality, and resource management while ensuring consistent application of project methodologies.
  • Build and manage stakeholder relationships, identifying collaboration opportunities and cross-government synergies.
  • Conduct assurance activities, monitor benefits, schedules, dependencies, financials, and report transparently on status.
  • Manage budgets, vendor engagements, and contracts while providing expert advice to project and program boards.
  • Foster collaboration and resilience across multi-functional teams, applying user-centred design and supporting alignment to ICT frameworks.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience delivering multi-channel service transformation projects using technology, systems, and processes.
  • Expertise in PRINCE2 and Agile methodology, applying both effectively in complex program environments.
  • Experience delivering digitisation and transformation projects based on human-centred design principles.
  • Highly developed communication, negotiation, facilitation, and stakeholder-engagement skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning capability with experience managing budgets, teams, and multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of Queensland Government digital and ICT frameworks and the ability to manage uncertainty and change across diverse teams.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working in Queensland Government or similar public-sector environments.
  • Familiarity with large-scale transformation programs and human-centred design.
  • Experience managing vendors and contracts in complex environments.
