- Turn waste into value in a landmark circular economy project
- Lead a large scale bioresource facility from design to operation
- Drive net zero ambitions for 1M+ people in a growing region
Unitywater provides essential water supply and sewerage services to communities across the Sunshine Coast, Noosa and Moreton Bay regions. Operating on the lands of the Kabi Kabi, Jinibara and Turrbal peoples, Unitywater is dedicated to sustainability, innovation and service excellence. With a strong customer and community focus, Unitywater is driven by its purpose to keep communities healthy and thriving.
Unitywater is pursuing an ambitious, future-focused solution to sustainably manage biosolids for more than one million people while supporting rapid regional growth. This innovative Bioresource Recovery Facility will bring circular economy principles to life; transforming waste into valuable products, improving environmental outcomes and helping keep customer costs low. As Project Director, this is a rare opportunity to play a pivotal role in a project that combines cutting-edge technology, new business model creation and long-term sustainability impact.
Reporting to the Executive Manager Sustainable Infrastructure Solutions, you will take full accountability for the end-to-end delivery of this flagship infrastructure project, providing strategic leadership to an integrated, multidisciplinary team. You will lead the design, procurement, construction and commissioning of a complex facility incorporating advanced drying and carbonisation technologies, while ensuring alignment to broader business objectives and Unitywater’s Net Zero ambition. The role requires strong engagement at executive level, shaping clear reporting and driving informed decision-making, while also working closely with delivery partners, suppliers and internal stakeholders to integrate technical delivery with the development of a new operational and commercial capability.
To be considered for this role you will be an experienced senior leader with a strong track record delivering large-scale, complex infrastructure projects, ideally within resource recovery, waste-to-energy or similar process environments. You will bring deep expertise across project delivery, commercial and stakeholder interfaces, with the ability to lead integrated teams and manage international technology vendors. Your leadership style will be collaborative and influential, with the capability to operate confidently at executive level while driving outcomes on the ground. A passion for sustainability, innovation and circular economy principles is essential, along with the agility to navigate a project that is as much about building a new business capability as it is delivering a world-class asset.
