Southern Rural Water play a vital role in delivering essential water services and is committed to innovation and sustainability. As part of a broader transformation, they are implementing a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to enhance data-driven decision-making and service delivery.

About the Role
This role leads SRW’s technology strategy and delivery across a portfolio of digital transformation initiatives, anchored by the ERP program. It provides strategic oversight of enterprise and data architecture, portfolio delivery governance, and cyber security uplift, while ensuring delivery meets business needs and aligns to SRW’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the scoping, implementation and delivery of the ERP program and associated technology projects, ensuring delivery to scope, time and budget.
  • Owning the enterprise and data architecture agenda, including an “as is” review, future target state, and an enterprise architecture roadmap for Board approval.
  • Preparing an annual technology program plan (budget, resourcing and delivery plan) and maintaining strong portfolio governance.
  • Reporting to Executive, the Board and the Digital Transformation Committee on progress, performance, risks and opportunities.
  • Driving stakeholder engagement across the business to shape requirements, define scope, and secure alignment and adoption.
  • Overseeing organisation-wide change management (training, communications, business readiness) to ensure smooth implementation and uptake.
  • Managing vendors and third-party delivery partners in line with SRW procurement, governance and risk frameworks.
  • Leading cyber security strategy and uplift (in partnership with ICT Operations), with proactive risk management across the portfolio.
  • Leading and developing a multi-disciplinary team (Project Management, Business Analysis, Change Management and Architecture).

About You
The successful candidate will bring strong program leadership across complex digital delivery, with credibility at Executive and Board level.

Key experience and attributes:

  • Extensive experience delivering digital transformation programs, particularly ERP implementation and integration.
  • Demonstrated capacity to translate corporation-wide strategies into programs or projects that enable achievement of required outcomes while effectively managing risks.
  • Strong governance, financial and risk management capability, with a particular focus on cyber security risk.
  • High-level stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, including communication with Executive and Board committees.
  • Proven leadership experience building high-performing teams and embedding continuous improvement.
  • Degree (or equivalent) in IT, Business Administration or a relevant discipline (essential). Project Management certification desirable; Change/LEAN/Agile certifications also desirable.
  • Flexibility to travel to SRW office locations as required - Mitcham, Werribee, Maffra, Traralgon, Warrnambool
