We are working with a state government client who is seeking experienced Program Director.


About the Role

As the Program Director, you are ultimately accountable for the successful delivery of the Program.


The PFMI Program is comprised of:


· Portfolio Management Improvement (PMI) Project, to implement enhanced portfolio governance & assurance arrangements, implement structured project planning & delivery lifecycle gateways and define investment prioritisation processes for the infrastructure portfolio.

· Team Integration and Establishment (TIE) Project, to establish ISD’s P3O Model (Portfolio,

· Program and Project Offices), enhance Portfolio Performance Reporting (PPR) and clarify functions, services, and capability requirements across portfolio and project support teams for the infrastructure portfolio.

· Financial Management Improvement (FMI) Project, to strengthen capital financial management of the infrastructure portfolio


Key responsibilities will include;


· Provide clear strategic direction and leadership for the program.

· Ensure the program’s objectives, scope and deliverables are aligned with ISD’s strategic objectives.

· Ensure the program’s objectives, scope and deliverables are clearly understood and effectively communicated across all levels of ISD.

· Maintain a deep understanding of the program’s content, subject matter and technical aspects

to provide informed guidance and decision-making.

· Actively engage with staff in the program’s teams to understand challenges, risks and opportunities, along with providing hands-on support where necessary.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including internal ISD teams and key stakeholders across the Department, to ensure program success.

· Foster effective communication and collaboration across all of the program’s teams, staff leading other related business transformation initiatives and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.

· Drive the development and implementation of change management strategies to ensure successful adoption of program outcomes.

· Oversee the planning, execution and delivery of the multiple interrelated projects within the program, ensuring they are managed cohesively and effectively.

· Maintain robust program governance structures, including Program/Project Board meetings and reporting mechanisms, in line with requirements of ISD’ Transformation Management Office.

· Monitor and evaluate program performance, ensuring timely delivery of milestones and adherence to budget and timelines.

· Identify, assess, and manage program risks and issues, ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies are in place and communicated to stakeholders.

· Define and track measurable program outcomes/benefits, ensuring they are realised and aligned with ISD’s strategic objectives.


About you

· Whilst not mandatory, the related qualifications would be highly regarded, such as infrastructure management, portfolio/program/project management, business management or financial management.

· Senior leadership in large and complex organisations, with experience in or working with public sector organisations being an advantage.

· Infrastructure management practices and infrastructure business operations, with experience in infrastructure portfolio/program/program management and/or capital financial management being highly desirable.

· Leading business transformation/improvement programs or projects for large/complex organisations


The Benefits

· $154 per hour + Super (PAYG Agency Contractor)

· Contract up to December 2026

· Brisbane, CBD

· Monday to Friday, Full time hours (36.25 hrs)
