About the Opportunity
This newly created Procurement Manager position reports to the CFO and will lead the greenfield establishment of a purposeful procurement function that will optimise outcomes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
The Procurement Manager will craft and execute category strategies across all areas of spend and implement controls and processes to develop a framework of procurement best practice. In addition to qualitative considerations and creating value, success will be measured by ensuring competitive pricing agreements and identifying savings that can be reinvested in future initiatives and ongoing purposeful projects.
You will critically evaluate the risk and quality metrics as well as ensuring adherence to social procurement and ethical considerations for suppliers.
The Procurement Manager will also collaborate with key stakeholders to support the roll-out and project management of continuous improvement initiatives that could include new technologies, systems implementation and upgrades.
In short, the Procurement Manager will deliver direct & indirect category spend savings for reinvestment, drives best practice and process improvements, whilst building a robust Risk, Governance & Contract framework in accordance with social procurement considerations and the organisation's values.
About You
The successful candidate will demonstrate a track-record of success and achievement within a hands-on, yet strategic focused, procurement role. You will be adept at working with diverse stakeholders internally and externally and able to positively communicate the benefits to your audience. This role requires a broad range of skills to enable a full source-to-contract methodology across a hugely diverse range of spend categories. Key step processes and capability would include a blend of procurement analysis, supplier negotiation and selection, contract management and award, through to ongoing supplier relationships.
The broad remit will incorporate the need to build capability and robust frameworks to ensure that risk, governance, quality and compliance matters are fully considered. As such, in addition to your commercial lens and competitive sourcing mindset, you will be highly organised and detailed orientated to enable a robust administrative framework and documented methodologies.
In short, this role will suit if you are an outcome driven, procurement business partner who is clearly people orientated, an adept communicator who is also data led. You will be highly organised and able to execute category strategies into practical cost savings whilst ensuring all the documentation and social procurement considerations are compliant as part of a newly established policy and governance framework.
