- Strategic, visible, values-based leadership opportunity
- Lead a thriving Anglican girls’ school through its next chapter
- Live and lead in beautiful Toowoomba, Queensland
The School
Located in the heart of Toowoomba on Queensland’s Darling Downs, The Glennie School is a highly respected regional Anglican school for girls from Kindergarten to Year 12, with boarding from Year 5. With a history dating back to 1908, Glennie delivers high-quality, values-led education to approximately 700 students, including 165 boarders, and is proudly known for its inclusive Anglican ethos, French immersion program, commitment to academic, sporting, cultural excellence and care for its students.
A diocesan school supported by the Anglican Schools Commission (ASC), the school has recently navigated a period of transition and is now poised for sustained renewal, with increasing enrolments, strengthened staff morale, positive community sentiment and a renewed strategic direction.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the School Council through the Chair and working closely with the Council and the ASC the Principal will lead the next stage of Glennie’s evolution into the future- bringing to life the school’s vision to be a provider of choice for girls’ education and an employer of choice for passionate, values-aligned educators.
You will provide educational, strategic and spiritual leadership across the Glennie community, and be instrumental in:
- Strengthening a high-performance, high-care culture across students and staff
- Ensuring an excellent all-round education which looks to prepare students for their future lives and careers
- Enhancing enrolment growth beyond regional population trends
- Championing a distinctive Glennie identity rooted in Anglican values
- Supporting a culture of innovation and excellence across academic, pastoral, and co-curricular domains
- Delivering clarity and action on capital works and maintenance programs
- Being a visible, engaging and authentic community leader in Toowoomba and rural catchment areas
This is a highly relational and nuanced role requiring active visibility and diplomacy across old girls, parents, regional parishes, ASC stakeholders and the broader Toowoomba community. The Principal will also play a pivotal role in storytelling and school marketing - sharing success and building the school’s profile in Queensland and internationally.
About You
You are a proven school leader with a passion for holistic girls’ education and a deep alignment with the values of the Anglican tradition. With demonstrated experience leading through complexity, you bring:
- Strategic insight and operational acumen in a school environment

- The confidence and authenticity to engage with students, old girls, current families, rural communities, local clergy, the Glennie School Council and ASC
- A visible personal faith and the capacity to lead spiritual life at the school with integrity
You are a leader of educational outcomes and a steward of community, culture and identity.
Why This Role?
This is a rare opportunity to lead an iconic regional school at a pivotal time in its history. With a refreshed strategic plan, growing enrolments, and a supportive Council and ASC, you will have the platform to shape lasting impact - for Glennie girls, for staff, and for the community.
