Davidson is partnering with a state government client seeking an experienced Principal Property Officer to join their Services and Infrastructure Planning Branch within the Infrastructure Services Division. This opportunity focuses on supporting portfolio decision-making and facilitating property functions related to Early Childhood assets.
About the Role
As Principal Property Officer, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-level analysis, due diligence, and stakeholder engagement to support the development and implementation of performance monitoring, decision-making frameworks, templates, and processes for the Early Childhood property portfolio. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing the implementation of property programs, including portfolio review, rental assessment, and the identification and development of third-party use and leasing programs for Early Childhood infrastructure.
- Consulting and liaising with a diverse range of stakeholders, including internal business units, legal services, procurement, Early Childhood, Regulation and Communication Division, schools, regions, other government departments, local government authorities, community interest groups, and neighbouring property owners.
- Providing timely, independent property and planning advice, developing strategies, identifying emerging issues, and implementing plans that impact key stakeholders.
- Analysing potential risks, opportunities, and strengths in third-party use and leasing programs to ensure consistency in decision-making.
- Identifying legislative and policy obligations, and seeking improvements to leasing programs, reporting, community use, and Joint Development Agreement models.
- Adopting a project management approach to complex matters to achieve consolidated and effective outcomes.
- Developing and sustaining productive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholder groups, including other Property Services teams, property owners, schools, legal services, town planning, procurement, regional infrastructure advisors, and across government departments.
About You
- Experience in leading the delivery of high-quality portfolio advice and developing appropriate service responses to meet stakeholder needs.
- Strong research, report writing, and brief writing skills.
- Awareness and understanding of relevant legislation and policy impacting a Queensland Government property portfolio.
- Proactive and forward-thinking approach, with a strong motivation to work towards organisational objectives.
- Although not mandatory, qualifications or industry experience in site due diligence, property-related legal experience and/or conveyancing, town planning principles, leasing, property-related policy, and legislation will be highly regarded.
