About the Role
As the Principal Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor, you’ll champion a proactive, people-centred safety culture across Logan Water.
Reporting to the Executive General Manager, this senior role leads WHS strategy, drives continuous improvement, and partners with operational and corporate leaders to embed health, safety and wellbeing into everyday decision-making.
You’ll bring deep knowledge of WHS legislation, systems and risk management, and the credibility to influence across all levels of the organisation - from boardroom to field. It’s a rare opportunity to lead safety in a business delivering essential services to Queensland communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic WHS leadership, embedding best-practice systems and psychosocial risk management
- Build capability and culture through coaching, consultation and influence at all levels
- Lead audits, investigations and continuous improvement initiatives to keep people and community safe
About You
To be successful in this role, you will already have experience working in similar operational and regulatory environments, ideally in water, utilities, infrastructure or construction.
Specifically, you will bring:
- Significant WHS leadership experience in complex, high-risk operational environments (e.g. utilities, construction, infrastructure, water)
- Comprehensive knowledge of WHS legislation, codes, standards and risk management frameworks
- A proven ability to develop and implement WHS strategy, policy and systems, not just operational compliance
- Experience leading audits, investigations and driving continuous improvement across diverse stakeholder groups
- Strong influencing, coaching and relationship-building skills at all organisational levels
- Relevant WHS tertiary qualifications (or equivalent significant experience)
- Current driver’s licence and General Construction Induction (30215)
