Davidson Technology is partnering with a forward-thinking local Council to secure a Principal Systems Engineer, Corporate Applications to join the team on a contract up to 12-months.


About the Role

As the Principal Systems Engineer, Corporate Application, you’ll lead the design, support, and continuous improvement of Council's enterprise applications and technology platforms. This includes driving the reliability, security, and performance of critical business systems while shaping future technology initiatives through innovation, systems integration, and strategic planning. You'll provide technical leadership and mentoring to a high-performing team, oversee GIS services, and work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to deliver technology solutions that enable better outcomes for the community.


About You

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate a strong background in enterprise information systems, corporate applications, and technology infrastructure within a complex ICT environment. You'll bring extensive expertise in systems administration, security, performance monitoring, backup and disaster recovery, along with a proven ability to support and optimise complex business-critical systems. You will be an effective communicator with exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, capable of providing high-quality customer service while leading technical projects from inception through to delivery. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with experience managing competing priorities and driving continuous improvement, will be essential. Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology (or equivalent experience), relevant Microsoft or industry certifications, and experience working within a corporate IT environment are required, while previous experience in a local government environment and an understanding of GIS operations and associated legislative requirements will be highly regarded.


The Benefits

You will be offered an hourly rate for the duration of the contract, up to 12-months and will be required on-site throughout the contract.
