Portfolio Manager

Information & Communication Technology

We’re partnering with a major Australian organisation operating at scale across critical infrastructure to appoint a Portfolio Manager into a key leadership role.

This position sits at the heart of a complex, enterprise-wide portfolio, with responsibility for overseeing significant investment (circa $100M+) and ensuring delivery is aligned, governed, and executed to the highest standard.

This is not a passive PMO role. You’ll be expected to bring structure, challenge thinking, and elevate delivery performance across the portfolio - working closely with senior executives and influencing at board level.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading portfolio governance, reporting, prioritisation, and investment oversight
  • Partnering with senior stakeholders to drive clarity, alignment, and decision-making
  • Reviewing and challenging program performance, budgets, and delivery outcomes to ensure accountability
  • Uplifting PMO capability, standards, and delivery discipline across complex programs
  • Navigating ambiguity and guiding teams through evolving priorities and competing demands

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience leading large-scale portfolios within enterprise environments
  • Strong PMO / delivery leadership background with understanding of governance frameworks and investment processes
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing high-quality reporting, with a strong grasp of stage gates, option papers, and investment/approval artefacts
  • Confidence and credibility to engage, influence, and challenge at executive and board level
  • A leadership style that balances presence and authority with emotional intelligence - able to command a room without ego
  • Experience within regulated or asset-intensive industries such as utilities, energy, gas, or mining

This is a rare opportunity to step into a visible, high-impact role where you’ll shape how delivery is executed across a significant portfolio.

If you’re a seasoned leader who thrives in complex environments and knows how to drive outcomes - we’d welcome a confidential discussion.
