We're partnering with a well-established Australian organisation undergoing an exciting transformation of its hosting and infrastructure platforms.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Infrastructure or Systems Engineer with a strong Windows background who has started their cloud journey and is looking to further develop their Azure and Infrastructure-as-Code skills in a large enterprise environment.
You'll join an experienced infrastructure team responsible for supporting and evolving a hybrid environment spanning on-premises infrastructure and Microsoft Azure, with opportunities to contribute to cloud platform initiatives, automation, and modern engineering practices.
The Role
This is a genuinely hybrid infrastructure position where you'll split your time between maintaining critical Windows infrastructure and helping deliver new cloud capabilities.
You'll be involved in:
- Supporting and administering enterprise Windows Server environments.
- Managing VMware and hybrid infrastructure platforms.
- Supporting Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, certificates and core Microsoft infrastructure services.
- Assisting with Azure platform builds and cloud infrastructure projects.
- Developing Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.
- Supporting Azure landing zones and cloud platform improvements.
- Performing server lifecycle activities including upgrades, patching and maintenance.
- Participating in incident, problem and change management.
- Working alongside senior engineers to improve automation, reliability and operational efficiency.
About You
You'll ideally bring:
- Experience supporting enterprise Windows Server environments.
- Strong Active Directory administration skills.
- VMware or enterprise virtualisation experience.
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure.
- Some AWS experience is beneficial.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform or Infrastructure-as-Code.
- PowerShell scripting or automation experience.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working within hybrid infrastructure environments.
We're particularly interested in engineers who are proactive, curious, and motivated to continue developing their cloud engineering skills. This isn't a role where you'll be expected to know everything on day one—you'll be supported by experienced senior engineers while contributing to meaningful infrastructure and cloud transformation projects.
