Davidson is partnering with a well-established organisation within the infrastructure sector to recruit a Plans & Drawings Technical Officer for a six-month contract.




This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative engineering team responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of engineering plans, drawings and technical records that support critical infrastructure projects.

About the Role

This role is ideally suited to someone with a background in drafting, CAD or engineering drawings who enjoys maintaining the accuracy and integrity of technical plans throughout the project lifecycle.

Working closely with engineers and technical stakeholders, you will be responsible for reviewing, updating and maintaining engineering plans and drawings while ensuring associated technical records remain accurate and compliant.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Review, update and maintain engineering plans and drawings.
  • Process drawing revisions and ensure accurate version control.
  • Support engineers with drawing amendments and technical information.
  • Maintain drawing registers and associated engineering records.
  • Ensure engineering documentation complies with organisational standards and procedures.
  • Liaise with engineers, designers and project teams to coordinate drawing updates and approvals.
  • Assist with the management of engineering asset information and technical documentation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of drawing and information management processes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience as a Plans & Drawings Technical Officer, Draftsperson, CAD Technician, Engineering Draftsperson or similar technical role.
  • Experience working with engineering drawings within infrastructure, utilities, construction, mining or heavy industry.
  • Hands-on experience using AutoCAD and confidence working with engineering plans and drawings.
  • A strong understanding of drawing revisions, technical documentation and engineering records.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, designers and project teams.

Experience with engineering document management systems such as TeamBinder, Aconex, ProjectWise, RedEye or similar will be highly regarded.
