The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Performance Test Engineer to join a high-performing team supporting the delivery of FinCrime and AML/CTF platforms. You’ll play a key role in ensuring system reliability and scalability across Java-based microservices, data pipelines, and integration layers critical to regulatory compliance.
The Role
You’ll design and execute performance testing strategies across complex, distributed systems. Working with developers, architects, and FinCrime SMEs, you’ll validate application performance under realistic load conditions and drive improvements in stability and response time.
- Plan, design, and execute performance, load, and stress tests across microservice architectures.
- Analyse application performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and recommend optimisations.
- Develop and maintain test scripts using tools such as JMeter, Gatling, or similar.
- Collaborate with engineering and FinCrime teams to validate rule engines and transaction workflows.
- Automate performance test execution and reporting pipelines (e.g., via Jenkins, Grafana, Prometheus).
- Contribute to performance baselining and capacity planning for critical AML/CTF services.
About You
You’re a technically strong performance tester with a solid background in complex financial systems, ideally within FinCrime or regulatory platforms. You have hands-on experience with Java-based applications, APIs, and microservices and enjoy using data-driven insights to enhance system performance.
- Proven experience in performance testing for Java and microservice-based systems.
- Familiar with FinCrime, AML, or regulatory technology environments.
- Strong scripting and test automation skills (e.g., JMeter, Gatling, LoadRunner).
- Experience analysing logs, metrics, and traces using monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Grafana).
- Solid understanding of CI/CD and cloud-native architectures.
- Strong analytical mindset and ability to communicate performance findings effectively.
The Benefits
- Initial 6 month contracrt with strong scope for extension
- Hybrid working with 2-3 days per week in CBD office
- Work within a highly reputable organisation
