The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre is a well-established not-for-profit organisation with a strong history of supporting Victorian communities since 1978. The Centre delivers integrated specialist services across crisis response, early intervention, therapeutic support, education and prevention for individuals and families impacted by sexual and family violence. Operating across the Barwon, Wimmera and South West Victorian regions, the SAFV Centre works in partnership with communities and service systems to provide accessible, coordinated and trauma-informed support. The organisation also delivers the Victims Assistance Program across Barwon and the South West region, supporting victims of crime more broadly. With a strong commitment to recovery, safety, inclusion and prevention, the SAFV Centre plays a vital role in supporting individuals while working to promote gender equality and prevent violence.

The P&C Generalist is a hands-on operational HR role supporting the delivery of efficient, accurate and high-quality people services across the organisation. Reporting to the People & Culture Lead and working closely with the broader team, you will provide support across the full employee lifecycle and act as the first point of contact for day-to-day HR enquiries. You will manage HR and recruitment inbox queries, provide routine guidance on HR policies, procedures and processes, and ensure employee records and documentation are accurate, compliant and up to date within the HRIS. You will also prepare employment documentation, support onboarding and offboarding activities, assist with recruitment coordination, and provide practical support to leaders across probation, performance and development processes. A key part of the role will be contributing to HR reporting, compliance activities and continuous improvement. This includes maintaining HR resources, guides and templates, supporting regular HR metrics and reporting, assisting with WGEA reporting requirements, and contributing to improvements across HR systems, processes and projects.

This is a varied role that offers the opportunity to build your HR capability within a collaborative, values-led and purpose-driven People & Culture team. You will contribute to a people function that supports safe, inclusive and effective workplace practices across a complex community services environment. You are an organised and proactive HR professional with experience as an HR generalist, advisory or support role. You bring a sound understanding of employment legislation, HR policies and processes with the demonstrated capability to provide accurate and practical guidance to a diverse range of stakeholders. You are systems-savvy, confident using Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms, and enjoy improving processes, documentation and ways of working. Your communication and relationship-building skills will allow you to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels as will your thoughtful, values-led approach in understanding the importance of a safe, inclusive and trauma-informed workplace practices. Experience within the community services or not-for-profit sector, familiarity with ELMO, and relevant HR qualifications will be highly regarded.

This position is offered on a part-time basis at 0.8 FTE and is based in Geelong, with regular travel to regional services as required.
