With a sizeable workforce and evolving payroll landscape, they are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to step in and provide immediate support during a busy period.


About the Role

This is a 3-month contract opportunity (with potential to extend) for a hands-on Payroll Specialist. Working as part of an established team, you’ll be responsible for supporting end-to-end payroll processing in a high-volume environment, process improvements and tackling complex payroll scenarios.

Key responsibilities include:

  • End-to-end payroll processing within a large organisation
  • Manual calculation and processing of overtime and adjustments
  • Managing exception reporting and resolving discrepancies
  • Performing accurate tax calculations
  • Calculating overpayments and liaising with employees to negotiate repayment plans
  • Managing superannuation processes, including handling refunds efficiently
  • Reviewing, updating, and creating clear payroll work instructions



About You

You’re a knowledgeable payroll professional who doesn’t need hand-holding. You know your way around a payroll system, can pick things up quickly, and aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in.


You will bring:

  • Proven experience in payroll within a large, complex environment
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end payroll processes
  • Experience with large ERP's (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Aurion, Preceda, Chris21)
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to problem-solve and work autonomously
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly when handling sensitive payroll matters
