Payroll Officer

About the Company

Our client is an established and growing business consultancy, providing payroll, finance and back-office support. With continued growth across the business, they are expanding their payroll team and have created a new part-time Payroll Officer position. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for genuine flexibility while still taking ownership of meaningful, hands-on payroll work.

About the Role

This is a newly created position, initially offered as a six-month contract with the intention of transitioning to a permanent part-time role.

The real attraction is the flexibility. The role offers between 16 and 24 hours per week, depending on what works best for you. Those hours can be structured in several ways – you may prefer two or three full days, or shorter days across the week to accommodate school hours or other commitments. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are essential working days, with Wednesday able to be worked from home. The remaining hours can be structured flexibly around the needs of both you and the team.

Working as part of the payroll and finance function, you will provide hands-on support across weekly payroll processing. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with end-to-end weekly payroll processing
  • Managing the payroll inbox and responding to payroll queries
  • Reviewing and validating timesheets, pay rates and deductions
  • Interpreting and applying multiple awards and EBAs
  • Ensuring payroll data is accurate and compliant
  • Completing weekly superannuation lodgements and stapling super funds
  • Supporting payroll reconciliations and reporting
  • Working with internal teams to resolve payroll queries
  • Assisting with process improvements and payroll documentation

The Benefits

  • $50 per hour + superannuation
  • 16–24 hours per week – choose the arrangement that works best for you
  • Flexibility to work two or three full days, or shorter days to accommodate commitments such as school hours
  • Tuesdays and Wednesdays are essential
  • Work from home every Wednesday
  • Six-month contract with a view to permanent part-time employment

About You

You will be an experienced Payroll Officer who enjoys working in a hands-on role and is comfortable managing multiple payroll requirements and priorities.

Ideally, you will bring at least five years of payroll experience and will have a strong understanding of payroll compliance, awards and EBAs, together with excellent attention to detail. Just as importantly, you will be organised, reliable and proactive, with strong communication skills and a practical, solutions-focused approach.

Please submit your current resume to apply. If you'd like a confidential discussion about the role, please contact Britt Molony on +61 0417737307, quoting reference JN -092026-44273. To learn more about Davidson, visit davidsonwp.com.
