About the Role
As the Payroll Officer, you will be part of a high-performing Payroll team, supporting the delivery of accurate, timely and confidential payroll services. This role sits at the intersection of payroll and systems, and you’ll play a key role in managing payroll data, reporting, and supporting projects that involve upgrades and enhancements to the organisation's HRIS platform.
Key responsibilities include:
- End-to-end payroll processing across manual and electronic wage records
- Maintaining accurate employee and payroll records in the HRIS
- Ensuring compliance with policies, superannuation, taxation, and industrial instruments
- Supporting audits, reporting, reconciliations, and EOFY processes
- Identifying payroll errors and recommending corrective actions
- Participating in HRIS upgrades, user testing, and payroll systems improvement projects
- Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders across Finance and People & Culture
About You
You’re a detail-focused payroll professional who thrives in structured environments and enjoys working with systems. Your ability to manage complexity, maintain confidentiality, and operate with accuracy makes you a trusted member of any finance or people team.
You will have:
- Strong end-to-end payroll experience
- Extensive knowledge and confidence working within HRIS platforms
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- High attention to detail and strong numerical ability
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Confidence explaining payroll processes and system functionality
- A proactive and solutions-oriented mindset
- C Class Driver’s Licence (essential)
