Our client is an established organisation operating within the financial services sector with a diverse workforce and a strong focus on operational excellence. They are seeking an experienced Payroll Coordinator to take ownership of payroll operations and become the senior payroll specialist within the business. This is an opportunity to step into a visible role where you will have genuine influence across payroll compliance, process improvement initiatives and payroll projects.
About the Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will manage end-to-end payroll for approximately 350 employees across one weekly and one fortnightly pay cycle using iChris and Kronos. You will be supported by an experienced Payroll Officer based interstate, along with an established offshore resource, allowing you to focus on both day-to-day payroll delivery and broader payroll initiatives.
This role sits as the most senior payroll position in the business and will have responsibility for payroll compliance, process improvement and project work.
Your duties will include:
- Managing end-to-end payroll processing across weekly and fortnightly pay runs
- Ensuring payroll compliance across legislation, awards, superannuation and taxation requirements
- Acting as the key payroll contact for managers and employees across the business
- Driving payroll projects, process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives
- Investigating and resolving payroll queries and discrepancies
- Partnering with operational leaders across a white and blue-collar workforce
- Supporting reporting, reconciliations and payroll governance activities
About You
You will be an experienced payroll professional who enjoys ownership and takes pride in delivering accurate outcomes while building strong relationships across the business. To be successful, you will have:
- Previous experience managing end-to-end payroll in a medium to large environment
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, compliance and award interpretation
- Experience processing weekly payrolls and working with blue-collar workforces
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with managers and employees at all levels
- Exposure to payroll projects, process improvement or systems initiatives
- Experience using iChris, Kronos or similar payroll systems will be highly regarded
