My client is a national organisation undergoing an audit-driven payroll project. You will join a small but committed HR Services team supporting payroll operations for employees across Australia and New Zealand.
About The Position
Reporting to the HR Manager, this role will:
- Perform reconciliation reviews, compliance and audit checks.
- Ensure that payroll data accuracy, privacy and file-keeping is compliant with legislative requirements.
- Audit payroll components (including leave balances, wage provisions, STI’s, wage increases, etc.
- Escalate payroll risks, breaches or anomalies.
- Maintain awareness of employment legislation and modern-award/contract obligations, contributing to continuous-improvement payroll processes and audit readiness.
About You
- Demonstrated payroll experience in Australia (and ideally New Zealand) under modern awards or similar conditions.
- Comfortable interpreting industrial instruments, employment contracts, and payroll/award rules.
- Strong technical skills (Excel, Outlook, MS suite), with high attention to detail and analytical thinking.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Capacity to manage multiple competing priorities, meet deadlines and work under some pressure.
- Customer-service mindset and stakeholder-management skills; able to collaborate across HR, Finance and business units.
Contract Details & Conditions
- 3-month fixed-term contract with immediate start.
- Inner-city location, 8 minutes walk from the nearest train station.
- Hybrid: 1 day per week work-from-home.
- Competitive, negotiable hourly / salary rate (reflective of experience and complexity).
