About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Compliance Analyst, the Payroll Compliance Officer will play a key role in ensuring payroll activities remain compliant with relevant legislation, enterprise agreements and internal governance requirements.

You will support payroll compliance across systems, processes and reporting, with responsibilities including reconciliations, audits, backpay calculations, data analysis, compliance reporting and investigation of payroll discrepancies. You will also contribute to process improvement initiatives and work closely with payroll, HR and finance stakeholders to strengthen controls and support compliant payroll practices.

This is a fixed-term contract through to July 2027.

About You

To be successful, you will bring strong end-to-end payroll knowledge and a sound understanding of payroll legislation and enterprise agreements. You will have experience managing payroll reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and working within a high-volume environment.

You will also demonstrate strong analytical capability, excellent attention to detail, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities. Strong communication skills, stakeholder engagement capability, and a high level of integrity and confidentiality will be essential.

Experience in health or public sector environments, along with exposure to systems such as SAP SuccessFactors, ECP, UKG/Kronos, SQL or Spinifex, will be highly regarded.
