Accounting

About the Company

Our client is a dynamic and growing organisation committed to excellence, innovation, and a genuinely supportive team culture. They pride themselves on creating a positive, collaborative work environment where people are encouraged to learn and develop.

Following a recent restructure, a newly created part-time Payroll & Accounts Officer role has become available to support their close-knit finance team.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounts professional with strong numerical aptitude who is looking to broaden their skill set into payroll. While payroll experience is welcome, it is not essential — training and support will be provided for the right candidate.

You will support weekly payroll processing while also contributing to general accounting functions, helping to ensure accurate financial records and smooth day-to-day operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with weekly payroll processing in line with awards and agreements (training provided)
  • Maintaining accurate employee and payroll records
  • Supporting compliance with Fair Work, taxation, and superannuation requirements
  • Supporting accounts payable and receivable
  • Assisting with PAYG, superannuation, and payroll tax lodgements
  • Responding to payroll and accounts-related queries from employees and stakeholders
  • Preparing reports for the finance team and management
  • Supporting audits and contributing to continuous process improvements

The Perks

  • Part-time role — 2–3 days per week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays essential) with flexible start and finish times
  • On-site parking
  • Friendly, supportive team culture
  • Modern, professional office environment
  • Nergotiable annual salary, pro-rata for part-time
  • Regular team events and celebrations

About You

You don’t need to be a payroll expert — but you do need to love numbers and accuracy. We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • Experience in general accounting, such as accounts payable, receivable, or finance administration
  • Strong numerical skills and high attention to detail
  • A willingness to learn payroll processes and legislation
  • Confidence working with financial data and systems
  • Solid Excel skills
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to manage deadlines
