Territory Generation is a Northern Territory Government owned corporation responsible for generating the majority of the Territory’s electricity. With a strong focus on safety, performance and community, the organisation is entering a period of transformation and growth, including investment in new energy infrastructure and system capability.
Reporting to the Operations Group Manager, this role is responsible for leading the operations of Territory Generation’s Southern Region assets, including Owen Springs and Ron Goodin Power Stations. Based in Alice Springs, you will provide day-to-day leadership of team of an operational workforce of approximately 20 staff while ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient generation of electricity within a critical, high-reliability essential service environment.
You will play a critical role in translating strategic direction into operational outcomes, driving improvements in plant performance, embedding strong safety and operational systems, and leading cultural alignment and team effectiveness. The role requires close collaboration with maintenance, engineering and system control functions, as well as the ability to manage operational risk, support emergency response capability and influence key internal and external stakeholders.
This role operates within a critical, isolated power system where reliability and system security are paramount. To be considered for this role, you will bring experience in power generation or heavy industrial operations within complex, high-risk and essential service environments, supported by strong technical capability and ideally a trade or engineering background. You will have proven leadership experience with the ability to lead teams through change, build capability and foster a positive team culture. A strong commitment to safety, operational discipline and continuous improvement is essential, along with the ability to influence stakeholders and operate effectively within a complex stakeholder environment. Experience operating within, or a strong understanding of, isolated or islanded grid systems will be highly regarded.
