The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre (SAFV Centre) is a respected, community-based not-for-profit organisation delivering specialist services across the Barwon, West Melbourne, and Wimmera South West regions of Victoria. Established in 1978, and strengthened through the 2016 merger of Barwon CASA and Minerva Community Services, SAFV Centre has grown into a leading voice and service provider in the prevention of and response to sexual assault and family violence. Guided by a strong commitment to equality, respect, and human rights, SAFV Centre works to create safer communities through evidence-based practice, collaboration, and advocacy. The organisation continues to build its influence and impact, driving innovation in trauma-informed service delivery and pursuing a strategic agenda of sustainable growth and sector leadership.
SAFV Centre are seeking Non-Executive Directors who will bring strategic acumen, governance capability, and alignment with SAFVC’s values of integrity, respect, inclusion, and accountability. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated governance experience within the not-for-profit, public, or corporate sectors and bring expertise in cybersecurity and ICT, governance and risk, and People & Culture. Additional experience across finance, law, strategy, stakeholder engagement, or audit and compliance will also be highly regarded. The Board is seeking individuals who can think strategically, contribute to complex decision-making, and help guide the organisation as it navigates growth, digital transformation, and an evolving external landscape.
As a Non-Executive Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping SAFVC’s strategic direction, supporting its leadership team, and ensuring its continued capacity to deliver high-quality, accessible, and values-led services. You will join a purpose-driven Board that embraces collaboration, diversity, and continuous improvement in governance. This is a unique opportunity to contribute your professional expertise and commitment to social impact, supporting a mission that truly changes lives. Remuneration for Non-Executive Directors is set at $10,000 (including superannuation).
