About the Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced IP Network Engineer
for a long-term contract opportunity based in Sydney
on Hybrid
schedule. This role is ideal for a hands-on network professional with strong experience in telecom IP networks, network security, and data centre technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and implement IP-based network solutions within a telecom environment
- Configure, manage, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and related network devices
- Implement and maintain network security controls, including firewalls, IDS, and network access control
- Proactively troubleshoot network issues to ensure high availability, stability, and performance
- Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimise configurations
- Perform regular network upgrades, maintenance, and patching
- Maintain detailed documentation of network designs, configurations, and procedures
- Collaborate closely with internal teams and stakeholders to deliver network solutions aligned with business needs
Key Technical Skills & Experience
- Strong expertise in IP networking protocols, including OSPF and BGP
- Proven experience designing and implementing telecom IP network architectures, particularly IP-based mobile core networks
- Hands-on experience with data centre fabric technologies such as ACI and EVPN-VXLAN
- Strong background in network security, including design and configuration of telco-grade firewalls
- Preferred platforms: Fortinet, F5, Check Point
- Experience with IP address management, auditing, and optimisation
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Qualifications & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree or tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related field
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE are highly regarded
