Davidson has partnered with Barwon Water to appoint a Network Administrator to join the Digital Infrastructure & Operations team and support the critical network services that underpin the organisation's operations and future growth.
Barwon Water delivers water, sewerage and recycled water services to more than 330,000 people across the Geelong region and surrounding communities. As the organisation continues to invest in digital capability, operational resilience and critical infrastructure, they are enhancing the network foundations that support both corporate IT and operational technology (OT) environments.
About the Role
Reporting to the Infrastructure Lead, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing Barwon Water's enterprise network environment.
This role will see you supporting a broad range of network technologies while contributing to infrastructure projects, operational support, incident resolution and continuous improvement initiatives. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders, vendors and delivery partners to ensure network services remain secure, resilient and aligned to business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and maintain enterprise network infrastructure across corporate IT and operational technology environments.
- Monitor, troubleshoot and optimise network performance, availability and resilience to minimise service disruption.
- Assist with the delivery of network upgrades, enhancements and infrastructure projects across the organisation.
- Support fibre, microwave/radio, mobile and datacentre networking environments while contributing to disaster recovery and business continuity outcomes.
- Collaborate with technology teams, vendors and stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and effective network operations.
About You
You're a hands-on networking professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and delivering reliable services in enterprise environments. You thrive in collaborative teams, take ownership of outcomes and are passionate about maintaining high-performing infrastructure.
Must-Have
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise network infrastructure.
- Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet hardware, fibre networks, microwave/radio networks and mobile networking technologies.
- Experience supporting and managing network infrastructure within data centre environments, including switching, routing, connectivity, resilience and high-availability services.
- Strong knowledge of network architecture, performance, security, resilience and availability principles.
- Experience troubleshooting complex network issues and supporting critical business infrastructure.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
- Willingness to travel between Data Centres within Melbourne
- Experience supporting infrastructure upgrades, operational support activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience within utilities, critical infrastructure or highly regulated environments.
- Exposure to SCADA, telemetry or industrial networking environments.
- Experience supporting data centre networking infrastructure.
- Relevant qualifications in Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.
