A great opportunity to lead a specialist team tackling some of Queensland’s most important property and client protection matters. Working in-house, you’ll play a key role ensuring fairness for clients (often elderly or disadvantaged), protecting their rights in leasing and property transactions, and leading litigation that really makes a difference.
The Role
- Lead and mentor a team of 3–4 lawyers/paralegals at varying levels of experience.
- Provide high-quality legal advice on property, leasing, and related civil law issues.
- Represent the organisation in civil litigation and property-related disputes.
- Manage a steady litigation-heavy caseload while maintaining 3–4 billable hours per day.
- Ensure client outcomes are fair and free from exploitation.
- Contribute to a supportive, ethical, and inclusive workplace culture.
About You
- At least 5 years post-admission legal experience (civil/property law highly regarded).
- Eligible for a practising certificate in Queensland (and High Court register).
- Skilled in litigation, ideally with exposure to leasing, property, or trusts.
- Strong leadership capability with a track record of mentoring junior lawyers.
- Private practice experience welcome — particularly if you’re looking to move into a purpose-driven in-house role.
