Established as a Directorate of Logan City Council, Logan Water delivers essential water and wastewater services that enable the city to thrive while safeguarding the sustainability of our natural resources. Responsible for $4 billion in assets, generating $270 million in annual revenue, and managing around $350 million in capital and operational expenditure each year, Logan Water is a cornerstone of the city’s success. With a vision to be reliable, sustainable, and committed, we remain focused on providing safe, dependable, and environmentally responsible water and sewerage services for the benefit of the entire Logan community.
Reporting to the General Manager Water Service Performance, the Manager Water Service Quality and Sustainability plays a critical leadership role in Logan Water’s provision of reliable, safe, and high-quality water and wastewater products and services. This role requires a collaborative approach and a focus on continuous improvement to strengthen capability, meet evolving regulatory expectations, climate resilience demands and the needs of a growing community.
With three direct reports and a broader team of 20 staff, the Manager Water Service Quality and Sustainability oversees drinking water, recycled water and wastewater quality management systems, laboratory and analytical services, regulatory monitoring and reporting, and broader sustainability programs.
A key focus of the role is providing expert technical leadership and assurance across Logan Water and a proactive approach to partnering with regulators, industry and internal stakeholders to deliver consistent and high-quality outcomes. This includes maintaining Logan Water’s NATA-accredited laboratory capability, ensuring compliance with regulatory and licensing requirements, and uplifting the capability and robustness of quality management systems that drive consistent, efficient and improvement focused water service performance outcomes.
To be considered for this role, you will bring substantial experience of contemporary water management, environmental health or aligned technical fields that are strongly anchored by quality management systems. You will be an influential leader with the ability to uplift capability, drive continuous improvement and translate complex scientific information into practical insights. Your strong communication, stakeholder engagement and people leadership skills will enable you to influence both internal and external stakeholders, guide high-performing teams and support a culture of safety, innovation and customer focus.
