Knox City Council is seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader to take on the role of Manager Strategic Procurement & Property. This pivotal position, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this role will be pivotal in driving continuous improvements in procurement while also leading the strategic management of Council's property portfolio.

In this role, you will lead Council's centre-led procurement team, building strong relationships across the organisation while driving a culture of continuous improvement to deliver value and impact. You will be responsible for ensuring all procurement activity is strategically aligned, compliant with legislative and policy requirements, and consistently delivers better practice outcomes. At the same time, you will manage Council's decentralised property team optimising performance to achieve both financial return and community benefit. This will include identifying properties for potential disposal and managing the full process through to Council approval and sale, overseeing lease and licence negotiations, and building strong stakeholder relationships with property advocates and specialist functions to support both Council's day-to-day operations and long-term strategic objectives.

The ideal candidate will be a proven leader with extensive experience in procurement, contract management and property services, ideally within a public sector context. You will have a record of successfully leading change programs, backed by strong financial and commercial acumen. Your ability to think laterally and strategically will allow you to navigate complex environments and develop innovative solutions that deliver real outcomes. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills will be critical, as will the emotional intelligence and political acumen needed to operate effectively across a diverse and complex stakeholder environment. A tertiary qualification in business, law, finance, economics, or a related discipline is essential, with postgraduate qualifications in leadership, management, or project management regarded highly.
