Melton City Council is seeking an experienced and strategic Manager, Maternal Child Health (MCH) to lead one of Victoria’s fastest growing and most dynamic MCH services. Following a significant period of transformation, is an opportunity to consolidate and enhance a service that has remodelled itself into a position of strength. Now, Melton continues to experience rapid population growth and increasing service demand, with this role presenting the next Manager with the opportunity to guide strategic planning, workforce development, and facility growth to ensure long-term sustainability and sector-leading excellence.

As the Manager, you will lead a multidisciplinary team, driving excellence in service provision, compliance, and innovation to meet the needs of a rapidly growing community. Reporting to the Director City Life, and part of the Council Senior Leadership Team you will provide strategic leadership, foster strong partnerships across Council, community, and government, and ensure the MCH Service remains aligned with best practice and policy frameworks. With a focus on collaboration, risk management, and continuous improvement, you will shape the future of child and family wellbeing across the municipality.

The successful candidate will be a values-driven leader with extensive experience in health, community, or any services, ideally underpinned by nursing or midwifery qualifications and AHPRA registration. You will bring a strong track record in operational leadership, workforce planning, and service reform, complemented by strategic insight and the ability to influence funding models, partnerships, and shared service opportunities. The role requires exceptional communication, governance, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across Council, State Government, and community sectors. Experience in financial management, enterprise bargaining, and change leadership will be highly regarded.

Based across the Civic Centre and multiple service sites, this role offers flexibility, purpose, and the chance to shape the future of maternal and child health in one of Victoria’s most rapidly developing regions.
