About the Company

Davidson Technology are working with a large State Government Department to secure a Manager, ICT Governance and Rick, to lead and manage the provision of the governance and risk management function and services to enable successful delivery of large scale, complex Information Management (IM)/Information and Communication Technology (ICT) programs and projects aligned with Queensland Government legislation, Queensland Government Enterprise Architecture (QGEA) and policy requirements.

About the Role

As the Manager, ICT Governance and Risk, you’ll be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of governance and risk management frameworks across the department’s programs of work. Aligned with Queensland public service values, you’ll ensure adherence to safety, quality, and ethical standards while providing expert advice on the identification, evaluation, and treatment of risks. This includes coordinating risk documentation and reporting, embedding a culture of risk management, and supporting senior stakeholders with tools and guidance. You will also oversee the establishment and maintenance of robust governance structures, including program and project boards, committee processes, and secretariat services. Further responsibilities include fostering cross-functional relationships, evaluating governance and risk maturity, and ensuring alignment with Department of Health policies, ISO:9001 quality management standards, and public administration requirements related to information security, equity, and ethical conduct.

About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll be a strategic and analytical leader with extensive experience in program and project risk management within large, complex service delivery environments—preferably in the health sector. You’ll bring deep expertise in strategic risk management, organisational improvement, and governance frameworks, alongside a proven ability to deliver high-quality reports and actionable advice tailored to organisational contexts. Adept at leading multidisciplinary teams, you will demonstrate strong negotiation, consultation, and communication skills to foster collaboration and drive outcomes in complex stakeholder environments. You’ll possess the capability to simplify complexity, advocate for innovation, and lead change with clarity. Qualifications in PRINCE2, MSP, or P3O are highly regarded.

The Benefits

You will be offered a 6-month contract (possible extension) on an excellent daily rate and the ability to negotiate a flexible working arrangement for the duration of the assignment.
