Located 35km to the southeast of Melbourne, Greater Dandenong City Council covers 129 square kilometers and has a population of over 169,000 people. Reporting to the Executive Director Community Strengthening, the Manager Community Care leads a broad and multi-faceted portfolio including In-home Support, Access and Quality, Positive Ageing, Disability Planning, Community Transport and Food Services. This role is critical in leading a dedicated operational team to support the delivery of services to more than 1,200 clients, ranging from meals on wheels and in-home care through to positive ageing programs and disability advisory services.

To be considered for this role, you will bring proven experience in senior leadership positions within community services, health, aged care, disability, or a related sector. You will have exceptional skills in strategy, financial management, and service delivery, combined with the ability to lead diverse teams through complex change. Your collaborative leadership style, strong communication skills, and political acumen will enable you to navigate a challenging environment, engage with multiple stakeholders, and maintain a focus on quality, compliance, and safety in service delivery. Importantly, you will bring an open mind, fresh ideas, and the ability to shape services that reflect both the needs of the community and the realities of a changing policy and funding environment.
