- Make a tangible impact on health outcomes for Aboriginal remote communities.
- Contemporary non-profit health organisation committed to cultural safety and holistic wellbeing.
- Clear succession pathway into future Senior Manager role with executive mentorship and support.
Our client is a non-profit Aboriginal community-controlled organisation providing comprehensive primary health services across remote and rural regions of the Northern Territory. The organisation is deeply committed to improving health and wellbeing through a holistic model of care that honours spiritual, emotional and family dimensions of health, while placing cultural safety at the centre of service delivery.
Reporting to the Executive Manager Health Services, the Manager will strengthen clinical governance, quality improvement and patient safety systems across nursing and allied health services to ensure culturally safe, evidence based and person-centred care. Based in Katherine or Darwin with regular travel to remote communities, the Manager will work closely with operational leaders and frontline teams to embed practical governance processes that support consistently high standards of care. The role will also use data, audit outcomes and incident trends to identify opportunities for improvement and support a culture of accountability.
This opportunity is uniquely supported by highly engaged senior and executive leadership, including mentorship from the Chief Executive Officer who is deeply committed to continuous improvement and contemporary clinical governance. The organisation genuinely believes that clinical governance and patient safety are responsibilities shared across every level of the workforce, rather than systems imposed through traditional top-down structures. This progressive and values driven approach reflects a deep commitment to care, compassion, and best practice across the organisation. As such, there is a clear succession pathway attached to this role, with strong support structures in place to develop the successful candidate into a future senior management position.
To be successful in this role, you will have a clinical background working either as a Registered Nurse, Remote Area Nurse or Aboriginal Health Practitioner, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in clinical governance, quality improvement, or patient safety. You are passionate about developing systems and processes that strengthen clinical practice and improve patient outcomes. You are a collaborative colleague who builds trust and are a natural communicator who enjoys being out in community building relationships to better understand consumer needs. You are comfortable working in remote and cross-cultural environments and are willing to travel regularly to remote communities in Katherine.
An attractive salary package is on offer, including relocation assistance, temporary accommodation and rental support to get you set up in either Katherine or Darwin.
