We’re looking for a strategic asset management leader to help shape Whyalla’s infrastructure investment during a once-in-a-generation transformation.
About the role
Reporting to the GM Infrastructure, this critical role oversees the lifecycle planning of Whyalla’s community assets—roads, buildings, drainage, parks, and more. You’ll drive best practice asset management, integrate masterplans into long-term capital works, and manage data-driven condition assessments to ensure safe, sustainable and cost-effective public infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading asset management strategy, systems and policy
- Developing rolling 10-year capital works and renewal plans
- Overseeing condition assessments, lifecycle modelling and asset valuations
- Providing technical leadership on statutory approvals (e.g. NHVR, s221)
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to shape Whyalla’s infrastructure legacy
About you
You’re a qualified civil/asset management professional with:
- Proven leadership in local government asset management
- Deep knowledge of infrastructure planning, modelling and project delivery
- Strong financial acumen and systems capability
- A collaborative mindset and ability to lead change
