Management Accountant

Accounting

About the Company

This is not your standard Management Accountant role.

You’ll be joining a privately owned Australian manufacturing business turning over more than $500 million nationally, with multiple sites and a strong reputation built over decades. It is a well run, financially stable organisation that continues to invest in systems, reporting capability and operational performance.

The leadership team genuinely values finance. They want insight, challenge and commercial thinking. They want finance people who understand the business, not just the numbers.

This is a company that manufactures real products, runs real operations, and needs finance professionals who enjoy being close to that environment.

About the Role

This Management Accountant role sits within the Group FP&A team and reports into a strong, commercially minded leader.

You will be responsible for partnering with branch and operational managers across multiple sites. You will own branch P&Ls, deliver clear variance commentary, support budgeting cycles and help lift financial capability across the business.

You will be:

  • Preparing and reviewing business centre P&Ls
  • Delivering practical and insightful variance analysis
  • Supporting month end across multiple sites
  • Contributing to annual budgets and reforecasts
  • Identifying trends and performance drivers
  • Improving reporting outputs and helping streamline processes
  • Working alongside operations to help them understand what is driving their results

This is a role where you will be visible in the business. You will be talking to managers, asking questions, challenging assumptions and helping them improve margins. If you enjoy sitting quietly in a corner building spreadsheets, this is probably not the right role. If you enjoy using data to influence outcomes and partnering with operations, you will love it.

About You

You are commercially sharp, confident with stakeholders and comfortable explaining numbers to people who do not work in finance.

You probably bring:

  • A Finance, Accounting or Commerce degree
  • CPA or CA qualification, or working towards it
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
  • Exposure to manufacturing or multi site environments (desirable)
  • Strong Excel capability and ERP exposure
  • A natural ability to build relationships and drive accountability
  • Strong business partnering and communication skills

You like being part of the business.

You want to understand how things are made, how margins are generated and how performance can improve.

You are proactive, curious and not afraid to ask why.

The Perks

  • 4 days in office, Friday work from home
  • Free onsite parking
  • Direct exposure to senior leadership
  • A business that is stable, growing and investing in finance capability
  • A very healthy and financially stable company
  • A role with real visibility and commercial impact

If you are looking for a Management Accountant role where you can be close to operations, influence performance and be part of a strong national manufacturing business, this is worth a conversation.
