About the Role

We are seeking Expressions of Interest for a Local Industry Liaison to support the delivery of a major energy infrastructure project across regional Victoria. This newly created role will be instrumental in driving local economic participation by connecting regional businesses and workforce to project supply chains and procurement opportunities.

The role will engage directly with local suppliers, industry groups, training providers and Traditional Owner organisations to ensure inclusive and regionally beneficial outcomes. With regular travel to areas such as Ballarat, Hamilton and Bendigo, this is a hands-on role supporting both strategic planning and on-the-ground engagement.

About You

You are a confident and proactive engagement professional with experience in local industry development, procurement, or economic participation programs. You understand the importance of embedding local content targets into infrastructure delivery and have a strong ability to build relationships across government, community, and business sectors.

You are comfortable working in a cross-functional environment alongside procurement and project delivery teams, and bring a practical understanding of regional supply chains, workforce development and social procurement frameworks. Experience working with Traditional Owners or in line with Victoria’s Social Procurement Framework will be highly regarded.

A background in infrastructure, renewables or major projects will be viewed favorably, along with a genuine passion for supporting regional communities and inclusive development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage and support regional businesses to participate in project procurement opportunities
  • Build partnerships with training providers, industry associations and local employers
  • Promote local employment pathways including apprenticeships and upskilling initiatives
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to embed local content and social procurement objectives
  • Work alongside Traditional Owner representatives to support First Nations business participation
  • Represent the project at local supplier forums, industry events and community engagement activities
  • Monitor and report on local content performance and compliance with relevant frameworks
